I’m mom to a rosy-cheeked baby girl who doesn’t like to be out of my arms, so I’ve almost perfected my one-handed culinary technique. I’m wife to an enigmatic man who is both simple and deep, spontaneous and structured, and who loves exciting food and leftovers with equal gusto. I have an insufferable Southern California job commute which requires me to food prep in every free weekend minute. I have an obnoxious Pinterest habit; I rarely follow recipes exactly; cooking is my love language.

My blog name comes from a darling song by Annette Hanshaw written one million years ago, “Cooking Breakfast For the One I Love,” which starts with, My baby loves bacon / so that’s what I’m makin’ / while I’m cooking breakfast / for the one I love.
